Rockstar Conrad Birdie has been drafted into the Army! Producer Albert Peterson and his secretary Rosie Alvarez hatch a plan to remain afloat professionally during Birdie’s absence by writing a new song and going on the Ed Sullivan Show for Conrad’s One Last Kiss with fan club president, Kim MacAfee from small-town Sweet Apple, Ohio.
Bye Bye Birdie is an All-American story set in the 1950s complete with rock-n-roll. It was nominated for 8 Tony awards in 1960 and won 4, including Best Musical. Memorable songs include Put On a Happy Face, The Telephone Hour, Kids, and A Lot of Livin’ To Do.
